Our center serves as a community early learning facility. Parents are welcome any time. Our Center is licensed by the State of Delaware, Department of Services for Children, Youth and Their Families.
We are professionals. Our staff, as caregivers and teachers of young children, are required to have a minimum of 18 accredited workshop training hours in child development each year. They are also required to complete “Training for Early Care and Education 1 and 2.”
We create a warm, happy, and safe place for children to learn in a caring and positive atmosphere. As we bridge the gap from home to day care, we guide children to continue good self-image while building social and educational skills.
Sensory, motor, perceptual, and language skills are introduced through materials and activities which are both child-centered and teacher-directed. Work emphasizes the process rather than the product, fostering a sense of accomplishment and pride.
Based on the theory that children learn through play, classroom routines encourage active involvement, meaningful experimentation and reinforcement through repetition. Schedules are designed which balance structure and free choice, as well as active and quiet times.
